It may seen I'm jumping about a bit but since my op I have not been sleeping too good at night to say the least waking up 2 or 3 time during the night for a few hours aaarh!!π²π²π²
But while I'm awake things pop into my head and I think I must put it down in my words.
Again it's now 3am and I'm in the 'wide awake club' on top of that I have got a chesty cough that is doing my nut itπ€ͺπ€§.
I think it was Sunday when I first ventured out of my pit... The hospital beds are not what you call 'silent night beds' yes the are adjustable in every position possible. But when you have as may tubes exiting your body as I had you can't find a good sleeping position even with the pain relief I was having...
Anyway getting out of the bed needed the assistance of the fantastic nurses it combined a roll on my side legs on the floor and being pulled to the sitting position. Can't remember swearing out aloud but in my head there was a few 'fu@ks and sh@ts' going on that would have made a Nun blush. ππ²π
David take your time as you may feel dizzy... I'm a man I'm OK.... Nope the room started to spin for a few second...
Next was to stand up with the assistant of the nurse. First all drains were moved out of my way then a chair was put near too, this was the target to sit in it to have my breakfast....
As I stood up with the help of my nurse I went dizzy again {only for a few seconds}. Standing on my two feet they didn't feel like my own feet as they felt like someone elses feet due to having what felt like pins and needles in them {I'm told this was because my legs had been strapped into leg stirrups for such a long time during the operation that it had caused temp blood circulation issues}.
As I do my blog my left foot is still slightly numb my right food is back to normal.
I soon sat down in the chair well on a pillow on the chair then I was leaning onto my right buttock to ease the pain.
That night it was decided that my cathiter could come out of me... I was not looking forward to this I must say, not that I wanted it to stay in me but the idea of it being pulled out of my man hoodπ²π².
The time had come a nurse closed the curtains around my bed she reassured me it will not hurt and just breath nice and deep. To be fair she was right it just felt a bit funny as it was bulked out of my bladder {She said that I needed to pee as soon as I could}.
This was my first steps down the road to recovery and getting out of the hospital. πͺππ₯
